Found in 2000, Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) has rapidly developed into a multi-disciplinary university with the largest number of students in Macau. MUST endeavors to educate students specialized in various fields, attaches equal importance to teaching and research, focuses on the quality of programs, pursues excellence, and has continuously reached new heights in academic development. The University Hospital (UH) is the only medical system in Macau that combines clinical, teaching, and research support. Located on the MUST campus in the Cotai area, UH has a team of medical experts from around the world, is equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, and offers integrated Chinese and Western medicine services. The hospital has the mission of being a trusted health partner for its patients, and is committed to providing the best possible medical care to the local community.

Established on September 19th, 2023, the Macau University of Science and Technology Clinical Trials Centre (MUST-CTC), the 1st clinical trials centre in Macau SAR, is an academic clinical research organization under The Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). With authorization to act as the primary hub for orchestrating and overseeing clinical research at MUST and the its affiliated teaching hospital University Hospital (UH), MUST-CTC commits to enhancing human healthcare by engaging in collaborative efforts with clinical investigators, research organizations and the healthcare industries to promote, attract, coordinate and initiate a broad spectrum of clinical studies, such as:

  • investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical studies;

  • experimental (interventional) and observational (non-interventional) clinical studies;

  • clinical studies on various medicinal products such as small-molecule chemical drugs, biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, traditional/proprietary Chinese medicines, herbal medicines and health supplements;

  • wide range of clinical trials; and

  • clinical studies focused on clinical practices and methods.
